Right to Die Europe, founded in 1993, is the European Division of the World Federation of Right to Die Societies. The World Federation, founded in 1980, comprises many Right to Die Societies from numerous countries. It provides an international link for those working to secure or protect the rights of individuals to autonomy and self-determination at the end of their lives.

Code of Practice
Societies that are members of Right to Die Europe each undertake:
• to uphold the Objects of Right to Die Europe, and to support and respect others of like mind
• to campaign, lobby and represent to establishment, society and government, primarily in members’ respective jurisdictions, the views of people wishing for autonomy, choice in dying and self-determination at the end of their lives
• to support those who demand and provide unrestricted palliative care, even if death may be hastened in consequence, and to recognise the rights of those who may wish for assisted dying and suicide

2. For that purpose to encourage the formation of societies in those countries which lack them.
